  2. @LazyGeek - we meet with the architect Candid Rogers, this Wednesday. So we will start putting up images of what the actual plan will be soon. Probably within 90 days or so. However, we are going to camp with some friends next weekend on our land. So hopefully we can have some fun shots at that time. Trust me, we are working within some structure, and I probably have not outlined that schedule here. I will try and be more proactive. I just was honestly waiting on the meeting to come up with some new content.

We will be there on the way to getting this project moving along this year for sure though. Please stay tuned. And of course, thanks for the support!!!

  3. did you guys set a foundation for the unit yet? I've read the whole blog yesterday (a long with many other container home blogs), and it's really interesting. However I couldn't really find solid information on how much it would cost to lay down the 4 pole foundation (cheapest method I know)... and the center support of these things worry me a little bit (40 ft long unit), the corners are solid, but the center area might be a little wobbly, maybe another set of foundation right at the center would sort out this issue.

  5. Hi there! I have pinned your blog to my browser bar so I can follow your progress. We just purchased 9.25 acres in Smithville/LaGrange area and we are planning a container home. As I was searching specifically for blogs about this endeavor yours caught my eye. Then, I saw y'all are in Dale, TX! We're practically neighbors. As a matter of fact, we looked at some property for sale in Dale. My husband's name is Dale, sit seemed appropo...will be following your blog!

    1. @Wendy - this is terrific. We should definitely get together and discuss ideas and resources on plans. We are hoping to get out there once a month and camp, plus get a project done for each visit. Just holler at us anytime. Email is my username here @ yahoo.

    2. @Wendy - have you had any progress on your build? We have had financial setbacks... not hardships, but rather job changes that have inhibited our ability to facilitate a full push to get the home constructed. Where are you in the process?
